Websites for sport organizations
Websites for provincial sport organizations, associations, and clubs that make registration, events, and member communication easier for a small staff.
Start a projectWho this is for.
Sport organizations do a lot with very little. Your website should take work off your plate, not add to it.
A small staff serving a large membership
A handful of staff and volunteers support athletes, coaches, officials, and parents. The website has to answer questions so your inbox does not.
Registration and events are scattered
Event registration lives in one system, memberships in another, and schedules in PDFs. Members cannot find what they need.
Sponsors want to be seen
Partners expect visibility for their support, and you need a fair, simple way to give it to them.
Volunteers take a lot of coordinating
Recruiting and organising volunteers for events takes too many emails and spreadsheets.
The site has to work for everyone
Members use phones at the field, in the gym, and on the road, and some use assistive technology. The site needs to be accessible and fast everywhere.
What I deliver.
Sport association website design is mostly about making the right information easy to find at the right time of the season.
Event registration website features
Clear event listings, calendars, and registration paths. I connect your site to the registration or membership platform you already use, or help you choose one.
Memberships and member communications
Membership types, benefits, and renewal details that are easy to find, plus news and email sign-up so members hear from you.
Volunteer coordination
Volunteer opportunity pages and sign-up forms that feed into one place, so organising an event takes less chasing.
Sponsor visibility
Sponsor sections, logo placements, and partner pages that give sponsors real exposure and are easy for staff to update each season.
Content a small staff can manage
Structured news, programs, coaching and officiating resources, and document libraries that a small team can keep current.
Accessible and mobile first
Accessible design and development aimed at WCAG 2.1 AA, tested on phones, and quick on slow connections.
How it works.
Step 1: Discovery with staff
We talk with your staff, and your board if needed, about members, programs, and the busiest times of your season.
Step 2: Content and systems review
I review your current site, registration platform, and documents to see what should move, merge, or retire.
Step 3: Structure and design
I plan the navigation around what members look for most and design a site that reflects your sport and brand.
Step 4: Build
I build the site on a staging server so staff can review it as it comes together.
Step 5: Content and training
Content is migrated, and staff get a walkthrough and a short guide to updating the site.
Step 6: Launch around your season
I plan the launch around your calendar so the new site does not go live in the middle of registration, then support it afterwards.

Why Reddogdesigns.
Sport organizations run lean. Through my ongoing maintenance and support work for Volleyball BC, I understand the rhythm of seasons, events, and registration, and what a small staff needs from its website.
25 years building for the web
I have run Reddogdesigns since 2001 and have seen most of the ways a web project can go wrong, so I plan around them from day one. As a senior UX/UI designer and front-end developer, I do the design and the code myself, so nothing gets lost in a handoff.
Craft CMS since 2013
I have worked with Craft CMS almost exclusively since it launched in 2013, and I build on WordPress and Shopify when they suit the project better.
Enterprise background
Past clients include Adobe, SAP, Disney, lululemon, Telus, Oracle, National Geographic, and design agencies across North America.
Flexible capacity
Reddogdesigns is a solo studio. I bring in trusted design, development, and content specialists as a project needs them, and use AI-assisted development to deliver faster. You always deal with me.

Frequently asked questions.
How much does a website for a sport organization cost?
Sport organization websites typically start at $15,000 CAD. The cost depends on the number of programs and events, integration with your registration platform, and how much content needs to move.
Can you connect the website to our registration system?
In most cases, yes. I link or embed your existing registration and membership platform so members move smoothly between the website and registration. If the platform has an API, deeper integration is often possible.
Can our staff and volunteers update the site?
Yes. I set up the site so staff can update news, events, programs, and sponsors without a developer, and I provide training and a short guide.
Do you work with clubs as well as provincial sport organizations?
Yes. I work with clubs, leagues, provincial sport organizations, and associations. Scope and budget differ, and I will suggest an approach that fits.
Will the website be accessible?
Yes. I design and build to WCAG 2.1 AA, including colour contrast, keyboard access, and screen reader support.
Can you maintain our existing website?
Yes. I provide ongoing maintenance and support for Volleyball BC's WordPress site, and offer monthly Website Care plans for sport organizations.
Which platform do you recommend for a sport organization?
WordPress suits most clubs and many provincial organizations. Craft CMS suits organizations with more complex content or integrations. I build on both.
